Simpkins proclaimed Super-Hero

PROCLAMATION
WHEREAS, Tim Simpkins has, for numerous years been an outstanding athlete and distance runner in Tallahassee and Leon County, Florida; and,
WHEREAS, Tim Simpkins has been a leader in his efforts to promote running and fitness in Tallahassee and Leon County, Florida; and
WHEREAS, Tim Simpkins' dedication to running has caused him to win four times the Gulf Winds Grand Prix competition, and to win the title of Gulf Winds Track Club Runner of the Year, and to win the Michael Caldwell Advancement of the Sport Award, and to be inducted into the Gulf Winds Hall of Fame; and,
WHEREAS, in his efforts to promote running and fitness in Tallahassee and Leon County, Florida, Tim Simpkins has revealed his true identity as a SUPER-HERO, through donning at various times the uniforms of his alter egos of Superman, Batman, Spiderman, and other super-heroes, and by providing an example and inspiration to others in Tallahassee and Leon County, Florida, to take up the sport of running, and thereby improve their health and fitness.
NOW, THEREFORE, the Leon County Board of County Commissioners and the City Commissioners of the City of Tallahassee, do hereby join together to proclaim Tim Simpkins as their SUPER-HERO and further, the Leon County Board of County Commissioners and the City Commissioners of the City of Tallahassee, honor Tim Simpkins and recognize that he represents much of what we strive to be.
